I can almost see the end of the tunnel

It has been 276 days since I left my home. I am proud to announce that my 10 year ban has been lifted. My waiver was approved on July 19th. There are no words to describe how happy and relieved I am. I don't care that I have to go to Juarez again, I don't care that I am going to be stuck in customs for hours. All I know is that home is close and I am going to be allowed to go back.

Happy Roby!

I have learned a lot and traveled to a lot of places. This has really been a hell of an experience. Here are some things that I have experienced:

-Mexico is not as dangerous as the US makes it out to be.
-Don't go to a black market and ask for a Monkey because you will get one.
-The best tacos are in Mexico City
-Mexico has buses that to everywhere! good place to travel.
-Michoacan has nice weather
-There are a lot of options for healthcare in Mexico.
-The hottest and most humid place in Mexico is in Nayarit
-Fishing is awesome
-Nuevo vallarta is way better than Puerto vallarta
-Guadalajara is a horrible place to drive, as well as TJ and Ciudad Juarez
-You need to boil water when you buy a new ceramic pot before cooking in it
-Aguascalientes is a nice place
-it's okay to freak out, you can't act strong all the time, it will drive you crazy.
-When fishing for "Rock dwelling" fish, bring lots of hooks
-Its okay to take antidepressants, sometimes we all need a little help
-Once you stop caring about what people think you will truly be at peace

There is a lot more but.. thats just a few things. For all of you going through this all I can say is: hang in there! this is a hard fucking process, if you need to cry, cry! if you need to scream do it! it will keep you sane once the bad feelings pass, if not, then at least you will be numb. Either way... after you can't cry or scream anymore you are still standing there having to deal with this. So, hang in there and allow yourself to be human. Life isn't fair sometimes and all we can do is let it go by and look for ways to make things a little better. All you 9c's have my love and support.

-Roby

What I have learned:
If I can go through this process without a lawyer, I can accomplish anything.

Wow, major congrats on such wonderful news!! That is absolutely amazing! I am a 9c'er myself. I just got my 10 year ban on June 4th and I sent in an appeal to fight the decision that was made. I sent it about 3 weeks ago. How long did it take for you to get an answer? You said it was a waiver you filled so did you just send in the waivers even though you were 9c? Thanks for your help in advance and once again congrats on such amazing news! Soon you can begin to live your life again and go back home!! :)

Thank you! I am so relieved and happy. I wasn't 9c. I was referred then I sent my additional evidence. It's finally approved.

I wasn's 9c'd but my heart goes out to all of you having to deal with this. I hope your appeal goes well. It took 8 months for my decision to come in.
